These hoop earrings are inspired by the time measurement system in the Inca Empire.
The Inca calendar is related to the cycles of the moon and the sun, in addition to being an agricultural and religious calendar at the same time. It was divided into two main semesters, the male semester of the Inca and the sun, and the female semester of the Coya (queen) and the moon.
This piece inspired by the Inca calendar, is inlaid with a yellow mother-of-pearl shell, a red and purple spondylus shell, also known as the red gold of the Incas, and a beautiful touch of turquoise, chrysocolla and lapis lazuli stone.
