HISTORY
inspires us
This pendant of elaborate and thoughtful details is inspired by a very powerful symbol of our ancestral culture.
The chakana, or stairway to heaven, translated from Quechua, is a stepped cross found in most of the artistic and architectural manifestations of Inca culture.
According to Inca mythology, it symbolizes the permanent connection between the gods, the human being, and the underworld. For the Incas it was a sacred element that united power, mysticism and wisdom.
The staggered outer part of the piece is inlaid with red spondylus shell, the central part has geometric designs that are surrounded by the magical abalone shell, and the smallest details come from the inlays of turquoise stone, chrysocolla, and lapis lazuli.
