HISTORY

inspires us

This pendant of elaborate and thoughtful details is inspired by a very powerful symbol of our ancestral culture.

The chakana, or stairway to heaven, translated from Quechua, is a stepped cross found in most of the artistic and architectural manifestations of Inca culture.
According to Inca mythology, it symbolizes the permanent connection between the gods, the human being, and the underworld. For the Incas it was a sacred element that united power, mysticism and wisdom.

The stepped outer part of the piece is covered with silver and the interior has geometric designs that come from the inlays of turquoise and chrysocolla stone, with red spondylus shell, mother of pearl and abalone.
